Today’s Daily Report is the latest newsletter with updates from The Amanda Ranch. This unique ministry in New Mexico was named after my infant daughter, Amanda, who, after many months of health struggles, went to Heaven in 2001. It was when someone helped my family—by enabling us to get away to reconnect and start a path toward healing after we lost Amanda—that I knew I wanted to create a place where other hurting families could go to do the same. The Amanda Ranch is a decades-long dream fulfilled, and seeing families already finding help and healing there is almost indescribable. I am so grateful for Billy and Wendy Hinson for dedicating their lives to The Amanda Ranch. While I do miss them as they live full-time at the ranch now, I thank the Lord for their willingness to give themselves fully to help these families discover the hope for a brighter tomorrow. I hope you enjoy this update from The Amanda Ranch.
Dear Friends,
It has been almost five months since my wife, Wendy, and I left our home in Florida to go full-time with The Amanda Ranch. We are passionate about this unique ministry of which God has allowed us to be a part—a ministry that provides a place for individuals and families to stop and rest after going through a loss or trial. We have a heart for those who are hurting. We both have overcome personal struggles in our lives with God’s help and support from friends and family. We firmly believe that The Amanda Ranch is the perfect place to facilitate hope for the hurting.
Here are a few facts about The Amanda Ranch:
The Amanda Ranch does not charge any of the families for their stay at the ranch; and we cover all their expenses (flights, travel, food, lodging, and excursions).
Our ministry is 100% funded by individual donors, local churches, and businesses. All funds are used to cover guest expenses and regular monthly expenses.
The Amanda Ranch is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and all donations are tax deductible.
Here are the families coming to the ranch in 2025:
- The Woodward Family – The Woodward’s house and contents in it were lost in a fire last year. They visited the ranch in late March.
- The Kurpan Family – The Kurpans both lost spouses, and Mrs. Kurpan lost an adult child. They will be coming at the beginning of April.
- The le Roux Family – The le Roux family lost their daughter Julie Ann in the floods during Hurricane Helene. They are scheduled to come in early May.
- The Warden/Head Family – They lost their daughter/mother suddenly to cancer. They are scheduled to come in July.
- The Salm Family – Their daughter was stillborn, and the mother recently has been battling cancer. They are coming in August.
- The Triplett Family – They lost their adult son tragically last year. They are also coming in August.
- The Jones Family – They lost their 6-month-old baby. They are coming in November.
We have a nomination for a Florida family who lost their teenage son in a recent hunting accident (pending board approval).
There are so many other families that we want to help in the future. That being said, thank you to our donors for being valued partners! We exist completely by your continued support. If anyone—a church, a business, or an individual—would like to join us as a donor partner, we covet your support to help us fund each family’s trip and to support the ministry needs. For more information, you can visit www.theamandaranch.com.
PS: We are in need of a 15-passenger van. We currently rent a van for each family’s trip, and the cost is very expensive. If someone knows of a source for acquiring one for the ranch, please let us know by emailing [email protected].
In His hands,
Billy and Wendy Hinson
