There will always be voices—some loud, some subtle—trying to shape your direction. In a world full of opinions, it is easy to be pulled in a hundred different ways. If you are not careful, you can find yourself listening to the wrong people and drifting off course from what God has called you to do. Psalm 1 states, Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly…But his delight is in the law of the LORD…
Something to think about: Be careful of the counsel you heed. Do not seek it from those who have failed at or have never even attempted what you are striving to accomplish. Be bold in your pursuit of God’s will. Be bold in your leadership. Not everyone will understand the path you are walking—and that is okay. They are not you. Once you begin to fly, the chickens will start clucking about why it cannot be done or why it should not be done. Let them cluck. It is better to soar alone than to stay grounded with those too afraid to leave the coop. Eagles do not take flight lessons from chickens.
Keep your eyes on the path God has laid before you. Stay in His Word. Keep your ears tuned to good counsel. Do not let fear, criticism, or the noise of unimportant things (like clucking from those chickens) keep you from flying.
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: (Philippians 1:6)
